Our Life

Our life together is a Crazy ride, but we wouldn't have it any other way.

I was lucky enough to meet the man of my dreams at the age of 23 but waited five long years to become his wife. I can say for sure that it was worth the wait.

We even had our reception at the golf course, the only thing he requested about the entire wedding.

I not only married the greatest guy around (and contrary to some people's beliefs we do argue), I married my best friend. The only thing that we didn't agree on was animals. Well I am happy to say that I changed his mind and now we have to two most well adjusted "ARFans" you will ever meet. Plus at the moment we have a long term foster named Joe. We have had him since Febuary of 2011 when Dennis rescued him and his brother from the warehouse where he works. We thought that he would be adopted very quickly, but learned that Joe attached himself to us and doesn't want to go anywhere.

What is an "ARFan?" They are dogs rescued by the Animal Rescue Foundation in Mobile. Shea our first dog was found roaming through four lanes of traffic when she was rescued. While Wolfie our second adopted dog was unfortunately being walked to his final destination. Yep that's right he was being put to sleep. I hate to even think that this wonderful guy almost lost his life.

Shea and Dennis is holding Wolfie.
I stay very busy volunteering with ARF as of June of 2011, I retired from working full time in the construction industry. After three weeks of retirement I was ready for a part time job, which I found. I work about 20 hours a week and love it. Luckily my wonderful hubby doesn't complain....much. Though sometimes I think he doesn't complain because I don't say much about how much time he spends on the golf course, but that is a different story.

Dennis and I both come from rather large families, while mine live near by (except for my younger sister who is a junior at the University of Alabama) Dennis' family lives all over the east coast from D.C. to Rhode Island.

We bought our new "older" house over a  brand new house so that we could have a few projects and also because it had a HUGE backyard, which is a must for us and our our furbabies.

I love most crafts but must a admit that sometimes I get bored very easily. (You should see some of my unfinished projects, it is rather sad.) I am learning to be more frugal with my spending after years of literally throwing money away and not really having anything to show for it. Luckily I married a tightwad and he keeps me in check:)
